to write it down
so I ascended the stairs
into the attic
where dreams fly freely

tucked a blanket here or there
beneath yellow daylight

the moon was caught
in a misty blue
so early
the sun appeared
fighting for the sky

the white puffs of cloud
seemed to envelope
the globe like a shroud

and gleaming eyes
are enticed
to view the fog
like a spectral mist
deciphering molecules
stuck in the glare
of sparkles

lazily abides
to shake off
what once was there.

Sunrise GallowsCrimson
Crimson
Sunrise haze.
Morning gallows
Gather today.
It's heard through the forest
It's heard everyday.
Another has fallen
Another is saved.
Keep your eyes open
Don't look away.
They want you to see this
They want to see pain.
One's losses
Is another's gain.

Purge The SoulRifts of layered satin
move and cover whole
Overlapping limbs
and binding to the core
Struggling direction
as the rift provides more
Ways to turn and toss
and question
lessening the hold
Interwoven truths unbound
tethered to the sea
Currents carry taint away
simultaneously
let go of the handle
offered by the spout
Quench your thirst in rivers
clearing up the drought
Throw it all away
clothes cast upon the shore
'till ghostly skin is crystal clear
and find out you have more

No sound?falls on deaf ears
blue stream
the difference
significant
unseen
what does it mean?
only faith
in self
else there is nothing left
when no sound
is heard
when the world
falls on deaf ears
we know
the bold move to make
shifting
causing rafters
to break
the wreckage will quake
go on
and persevere
if fearing is seeing
a line is crossed
go will
and then in silence
the world
stands still.
Instinct
is smarter than you think.

The Loungemascara band-aids
and cosmic blush
tepid hand shakes
and trysts of lust

forever daunting
the panther prowl
forever seeking
somewhere, somehow

smoke rings gather
in spectral mist
slow movements
elbows and twists

shoulders furled up
in the cold
no one knows
which way to go

but car crashes
are just as common,
as hope.

VWhat ails you now, my darling
has this, vermillion fever, taken over
I can feel the heat
in your blushing cheeks
miles away

the satellites have broken down
but still
our frequencies intertwine

I am lost
or you
are lost
in a sea of dreams
the whispers in the wind
twirl around me

But I stand, grounded
looking into the expanse of space
you have created, such a heartbroken place.

Just like an angel
Taking strides of her own

With folded wings
Clasped about her skin
As fingers intertwine
And hands do not rest,
But instead move

Across the keys
Unlocking the doors
Of a child's heart
As she sways
Into the Movements
Of a woman

The intensity of
Eyes permeates the air
Even as they are
Lowered

To the stepping stones
Where raindrops wept
A million tears
Creating Oceans
That spanned across
The sands
And forever flow

No matter how torrent
Or impalpable
She eases into that
Steady Motion

As her vessel
Gently rocks
The sunsets

Until the door is closed
And the song has
Ended, and

ForeverFleeting; the moments that pass, the song that ends, the after kiss, the last drag of your cigarette, the first sip of your coffee, once the car is turned off, the shades are pulled down, you blow out the candle, the last thing you see before you close your eyes, the wind that stops blowing, the world goes black. Every second. Gone Forever.

Impression; Every fleeting thing, the music ringing in your ear, the taste on your lips, the hum of a motor, the flutter of a heart, the tingle in your nose, the blackness against your lids, the wind licking your skin. Every second. Remains Forever.

a stirring.
i can sense it stirring -
a lack of light within the center
of the chest in which muscles
contract, tightening to fill
a fluttering vacancy.
it runs over into the blood,
rousing the pulse
from its sleepy stupor and
coalescing into a taunt, hot web
of poison strings
inside the throat.

failure it cries
until the eyes blur
and breathing is the only remaining
necessity, the last and desperate

thought.

it lingers there, a poltergeist of
my repression in waiting
even beneath the pills,
latching on and digging deep
into each tender crevice
of every stagnant cell.

stories after darkthey meet most often
in the dark;
through midnight encounters,
lost lovers content with silence
and only the dim glow
of starlight from the window.
beneath the blankets
bedroom walls tumble down,
bedroom floors cease to exist;
and the entirety of space begins to
spin overhead,
fraught with all the possibilities
found lingering on that first
page, in that first word
tingling on the tongue
with anticipation,
then rolling off,
sweet, powerful,
honey for the heart.

and when her parents thought
she was asleep in bed
she'd tuck underneath the covers
and run away inside

saga skin dotted
with freckle narratives all
out of order

she waits for the chance to amend
your enigmas
to open your closed book

because you've never had one before.

the underside of bones.i. what glow once kindled so astringent,
hot-coals beneath the feet
now pleads in the whispers
of a light desperate not to go out.
how quickly does the mind flip.
society's winds blow
and the blank stares and misconception blow
and she's stumbling around on bird legs
in the hurricane's aftermath,
keeping up a semblance of assurance
like she's expected to.

I dreamed a dream that was in my head. I had unexpectedly taken an afternoon nap, resting peacefully in our secret place. I laid out on the softness of an old quilted blanket I often took with me when I went deep within the woods outside of the town of Chester. My aunt Lori had made it when she was just a girl and then gave it to me when I was born. Every night I walk the narrow path to The Door, Your Door. (I tell no one. I make sure they're not watching). They tried to keep me from you. Did you know they hid the letters? They hid them, but I found them in the attic underneath a pile of your clothes. They tried to donate those too, but I stopped them. I had a fit and I made them stop. Everyday my nightgown is damp with tears, but at night I have comfort. I know you're with me then.

In a town so pure and sweet
lies a secret hidden deep

you can search high and low
you'll never find which way to go

faces plastered with a smile
gentle gestures, "stay awhile"

look beyond that curling grin...

everyone takes a part in it
even if they never mean it

(They never see it)

Turn a cheek and turn a chin
they wash their hands with soap and sin
move along now stand in line
take a ticket 'till it's time.

Once they have you in your place
this is where you'll spend your days

killing everything inside...
